BHA members have made impressive strides in reducing water and energy consumption,
Kevin Girard Vice Chairman and DIrector of Sustainability for Bali Hotels Association is delighted to share some encouraging news that we received from our partners at Horwath during our latest monthly meeting. According to their data, our members have made impressive strides in reducing water and energy consumption, which is great news for both our industry and the environment.
Over the last six months of 2022, energy consumption per occupied room decreased, while water consumption per occupied room dropped by. These trends are a testament to the clear actions that our members have taken to reduce consumption, such as repairing broken pipes and leaky faucets, overhauling plant equipment to ensure it is running more efficiently, and replacing old equipment with new, more energy-efficient units.
We would like to thank all of our members who have contributed to these impressive results. Your dedication to sustainability and responsible resource management has not only benefited our industry, but it also sets an excellent example for others to follow.
Matt Gebbie from Horwath, during his presentation to members, reported that the final quarter numbers are very positive for Bali hoteliers and owners. Despite the challenges of the last two years, BHA member hotels have admirably kept ADR high, while occupancy has improved month on month.
We believe that these results are a testament to the resilience, hard work, and dedication of our members, and we look forward to continuing to work with you to build a brighter, more sustainable future for Bali's hospitality industry. #hospitalityindustry #sustainability #data #energy
